Problem connecting Outlook 2013 to an external MS Exchange 2010 server!

Hi,

I am trying to connect to an external Exchange 2010 server using Outlook 2013 through the internet.

I am able to use OWA and download emails using my iphone.. but I am unable to do this using Outlook 2013?

I have tried all options available in outlook account settings and it doesn't connect.

When logged in using OWA, I checked pop3 and IMAP4 settings and they are blank..:)

The below error is when I tried using the 'ActiveSync option'

Log onto Exchange ActiveSync mail server (EAS): Could not locate the specified server. User name and/or password are not valid. Please verify the information is correct.

The purpose of trying to connect using Outlook is to backup my emails by creating a PST.. or atleast have an offline copy.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please confirm whether other users can connect to this Exchange 2010 from external internet environment or not.

If the issue happens to all external users, please contact the Exchange administrator to confirm if the Outlook Anywhere is enabled in Exchange 2010 for external accessing.

If the issue only happens to one user, please manually configure the Exchange account with Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service in Control Panel by referring the following article:

Hi Winnie,

Sorry for the late response. I resolved the issue by manually configuring Outlook to connect to the exchange.

Cheers,

Avinash
