Printer Scan to email login details

Hi,

I have found an article on scanning to email using SMTP.  Where it asks for a User Login/Password does this need to be a paid office365 account or is there a way to use an internal account (i.e. as per Meeting rooms or Shared mailboxes) It seems expensive to have a monthly user payment for a printer

Thanks Barry

Shared and resource mailboxes are disabled and therefore cannot be used for logging on.

Hi,

As what ED Crowley says, the shared mailbox and resource mailbox are disabled account in AD and cant be login directly.

To access the shared mailbox, we can give other users full access permission and configure this shared mailbox with their own accounts. For example, the AD user John has full access permission to the shared mailbox Shared1. Then John can use the email address Shared1@domain.com and user account Domain\John to configure the shared mailbox in Outlook.
