Prevent group members to reply to restricted group in Exchange 2010

Dears;

Anyone can help in prevent group members to reply to restricted group in Exchange 2010.

I have a mail universal security group called (All-Users), and have another DL called (Test).

The (All-Users) DL accept messages from only sender (Test) DL.

The problem is when we create any other DL like (IT) DL and put it as a member in the (Test) DL, all users members in IT DL can send and reply to (All-Users) DL.

I want to prevent any groups members to reply or to sends to (All-Users) DL, without using the moderation option and without disable reply to all in outlook client.

Hi,

If you want that all users members in IT DL cannot send and reply to (All-Users) DL. We can use the following command to reject the messages from IT DL members, even IT DL is a member of Test DL. After this configuration, all members in IT DL cannot send message to (All-Users) DL, but they can send message to the members of (All-Users) DL.

Set-DistributionGroup All-Users RejectMessagesFromDLMembers IT

If you want to reject message from members of IT DL to members of (All-Users) DL, the transport rule above is a good choice.

Hello Lynn

Thanks for your reply, you got my point, but what if I need to exclude some of IT DL members, on the other hand, are the IT DL members with send as option can send to All-Users group or the IT DL after done the above command being useless to send to All-Users at all.

Hello Lynn;

I have the same question as Mahmoud.Hanafi said, what about the IT DL status after run your command?

Hi,

Q1. What if I need to exclude some of IT DL members

Add these specific members of IT DL to the list of accept messages from only.

Q2. Are the IT DL members with send as option can send to All-Users group or the IT DL after done the above command being useless to send to All-Users at all.

No, even the members of IT DL have send as permission on the other users who can send messages to All-Users DL, they also cannot send messages to All-Users DL. Unless they have full access permission.

Best Regards.
