Prevent CAS server going into back-off due to unavailable mailboxes

Hi

I'm having problems with one or more MB databases on my E2010 Mailbox server. I therefore had to dismount them for the time being, allowing the other DB's to be mounted and accessible. I'll spare you the rest of the details on that.

But.....I now see my CAS server displaying a lot of 1016 Event ID's for ActiveSync clients.

Apparenty, the CAS tries to access the mailboxes in the unmounted DB's and off course doesn't get an answer. So it assumes the MB server is too busy, and goes into back-off mode for 60 seconds.
After which the whole process repeats.

Very nice and all, and I understand why this behaviour would someday help me, but right now it's not helping me. I want the CAS to continue servicing EAS requests for mailboxes which are online and mounted. Never mind the ones which aren't. It should not go into back-off mode for now.

So, how do I turn of the backing-off feature. For the timebeing.

Greetings
Richard

Why not disable ActiveSync for mailboxes hosted in the unmounted DB?

Yep, that's what I did 5 minutes after writing this post. Works fine thanks to the miracle of Powershell.

Still would like to know of the backing-off can in anyway be controlled.
