I have Powerpoint 2013 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 .

when in a presentation in Slide show mode, I hit the escape key to get back to editing mode as how it normally works on my windows 8.1 desktop computer.

when I do the same  on my Surface tablet,  (hit the esc. key to get back to edit mode from 'Slide show"  it flips me to the windows 8.1 tile start screen. 

or if I right-click on the presentation in slide show view and hit "End slide show", it flips me to the Start screen.

Can you help me out?

I have no surface, but I think it just a laptop. the behavior should be same as desktop. You can repair office.
