Power Map for Excel 2013 (Office Pro Plus) installs correctly but does not show in ribbon

I had exactly the same issue as another post described - and yes, I looked for the COM add-in and it was not present. The installer ran successfully with no errors, I tried rebooting both the OS (Win 7 Pro) and Excel 2013 with no joy.

Yes, I realize it is an unsupported add-in, but I was hoping that there is a community fix out there somewhere?

Hi ProfJD,

Based on your description, you said the installer ran successfully with no errors. What is the installer, Office 2013 or Power Map?

This is a known issue in office 2013, Power Map is an unsupported add-in in office 2013. A new preview version that replaces the earlier preview is available on the Download Center page. The earlier version of the Power Map Preview is expired, and won't work with any version of Excel. If you have the earlier version, uninstall it from Control Panel, then download and install the current version of the Power Map Preview.

Please refer to this link:

So you need to download and use the Power Map Preview for Excel 2013 as an unsupported add-in.

If this issue still exists, please let me know and Im glad to help and follow up your reply.

Yes, I previously uninstalled the old preview version of Power Map, and installed the new version. No joy with that solution either.

Hi ProfJD,

It seems that you install a new version of the Power Map Preview and it installed successfully, but you cant find this add-in in excel. I find a similar issue, the solution of this similar issue is repairing Office with online repair option.

Please refer to this link about this similar issue:

Please note: Before repairing Office with Online Repair option, save your Office product key!

And if you have more issue of using Power Map you can post you issue to Power Map forum:
