I just installed Power Map Add-in for Excel 2013. When I tried launching the map, I can't see any generic map other than an empty globe. I tried zooming in and out, but still nothing, I can still pin point locations on the globe though.

What should I do to make it right? Look forward to your help!

Did you get the empty globe as shown in the following figure?

If yes, with the System Requirements please check the Graphics Card of your computer. For Power Map the requirement of Graphics Card is:

• DirectX10
• Latest graphics driver

Then the Silverlight lastest version must be installed. The link of downloading Silverlight:
