PowerPoint 2016 for Mac Crashing on Slide Sorter View

I am a power user of Powerpoint on a Mac and have updated to 2016, version 15.3.1. When I open existing files that typically contain 200-400 slides, embedded video, and are combinations of dozens of slides from various decks with various masters, I can avoid crashes only if I NEVER click on the slide sorter view. Of course, if I do go to that view, it crashes.

I can send the typical log report it issues  (it's too long to embed here):

***

Any ideas what to do? I've tried Safe mode and it still crashes. I've deleted or stopped all background running apps. Also, it doesn't happen with shorter or smaller decks, just the big ol' legacy decks I depend on. Ugh.

Hi,

I found you post the question on Office 365 forum and read the typical log. Was this issue occurred with the particular files? Have you created a new file test?

Then, please try the following steps to check they are helpful:

1. Create a new user profile/new user account on a machine to do the steps.

On the Apple menu, click System Preferences.
If some settings are unavailable, click the lock icon, and then type an administrator name and password.
Click Add (+), and then type the user's name.
Type a short name if you do not want to use the short name that is automatically generated.
Type the user's password in the Password and Verify boxes.
Click Limitations, and then give that user permission to administer the computer.
Log off from the current account.
Log on to the new user account.
Start the Office for Mac program, and then try to reproduce the issue again to see if the issue has been resolved.

2. Within the new profile, please repair your Disk Permissions and also Verify them.

3. After this is complete, please do a full uninstall of Office via this KB:
support.office.com/.../Uninstall-Office-2016-for-Mac-eefa1199-5b58-43af-8a3d-b73dc1a8cae3

4. Once the uninstall process is complete, please install Office 2016 without any customizations or added features

a. This includes Fonts, Add-ins, etc.

b. We want the test environment to not contain any customizations - This goes for other apps as well (i.e. Safari)

5. Test running the new install of Office.

Please let know me know the result.
