Pound / Hash symbol not supported in hyperlinks in Office 2013?

But hyperlinks use this symbol. Why was this taken out? This makes no sense. Im confused: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/202261/en-us

As mentioned in this kb above, we cannot use a pound character in a file name for a hyperlink in an Office program, this is by design and I don't have a method to change it.

We will need to take the workarounds, like introduced in the kb, to use the Paste as Hyperlink command.
