Pop Update Window

We have recently upgraded all the Network PC's to MS Office 2010.  But we noticed an issue we have.  When ever a new user logs onto a Domain Computer and opens any MS Office product, they get the following pop window.  How do we disable this annoying pop up?

We did review the Windows Update settings and turned them off, but still this pop appears.

Thank you

That can be achieved by using GPO:

User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Office 2010 > Privacy > Trust Center > Disable Opt-in Wizard on first run

Jesper - Thank you for the prompt reply.

Since we have no option within GPO for the answer, we downloaded the 64Bit ADM per your link.  Now this is where we got lost...oh boy.

How do we incorporate the ADM into our GPO System?

Thank you.

Hi,

I think what you need is to load the Office 2010 Administrative Templates (ADMfiles) to a GPO:

  1. Verify that you are a member of the Domain Admins group or have the necessary permissions for the GPO: Edit settings or Edit settings, delete, and modify.

For more information about permissions that are needed to manage Group Policy, see Delegating administration of Group Policy in the Group policy Planning and Deployment Guide .

  2. In Group Policy Object Editor, right-click Administrative Templates in the Computer Configuration or User Configuration node, and then select Add/Remove Templates. A list of the Administrative Template files that are already added to the GPO is displayed.

  3. To add another Administrative Template file, click Add, and then browse to the location where you have saved the Office 2010 Administrative Template files.

  4. Select the file that you want to add, and then click Open. Repeat this step for each Administrative Template file that you want to add.

  5. When you are finished adding the files to the GPO, click Close. You can then edit the added policy settings in the GPO.

We downloaded the ADM files as mentioned in the thread.  After installing them per Melon's answer, we still see no options mentioned for Trust or Privacy.

The date on the ADM was 8/2011 so hopefully we pulled the correct file from Microsoft.

Thank you.

Did you add them afterwards? They are located in [yourinstallfolder]\ADM\en-us

Yes - But the options are not there as stated in the Thread.

Thank you.
