Poor rendering quality of images and CAD in Visio 2013

Below you can see a comparison of the same visio file with a wmf image in Visio 2010 (left) and Visio 2013 (right).

Same effects can be seen using DWG/DXF objects.

Visio 2013 - Images are pixelated when inserted into drawing

Hello J.Schiller,

I was able to reproduce the issue using EMF images and AutoCAD drawing objects in Visio 2013. Unfortunately, there is no fix or solution available at this time. Issue could most likely be related to design enhancements made in Visio 2013 and our product group is aware of this behavior.  I'll document the issue details again and submit to our product group for further investigation. Thanks for reporting the issue.

Thanks,
Sekar

Hi.  We are a MS Partner and  Visio ISV and this is a BIG problem for us as well.  I really need to speak to someone in the Visio group about the timeline for a fix.

There were some additional enhancements to high resolution image import in Visio. This was released as part of Aug PU here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2881079

Please follow the directions mentioned clearly. Ensure that you have kb 2881079 and kb 2883049 (as mentioned in instructions) installed and configure the reg key accordingly.

DragonIvec - can you confirm that you have kb 2881079 and kb 2883049 installed? Also, please ensure you have made the registry key changes as detailed in the kb. If you are still not seeing improvements, can you please share the image file with us on OneDrive or some file share?
