Phantom email address in CC (Client = Outlook 2007)
Hello Here is a strange problem for you. A couple of our users have reported phantom addresses appearing in the CC field. These addresses are from the cache, probably harvested from doing 'reply to all'. At first, I thought the problem was obvious - that they had accidentally picked the wrong person from the drop down list, or had accidentally typed some stray characters in the CC field. However, since this happened once, are users are being very careful and checking absolutely everything in the TO and CC fields before sending their messages. Jim assures me that he checked that Kile was in the CC field before clicking send. According to the message in his sent items, Kile was not in the CC field but cedric@.... was! (Names changed). This is obviously really dangerous. We have already accidentally copied a customer in on another customer's business but fortunately we didn't share anything drastic. Any ideas? or do you all think I'm mad? Best regards Tim PS, posting here because it seems to occur after sending but on second thoughts, as the address is from the cache, does that make it a definite Outlook problem?

Hi Tim, Which version of Exchange server do you run? According to your discription, could you please confirm the issue always occurs? or randomly? How about OWA?Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
