Permissions to send as this sender
Hi, we have Exchange 2007 running. We are trying to send an email using an account that happens to be an alias to another account but keep getting this error "Client does not have permissions to send as this sender". If I go into "Manage Send As Permission" for the account, I am certainly not able to see the alias to give permission. Is there a possible workaround for this without creating the account which is currently an alias. ThanksIsaac2k2

Sorry, wrong info sent. I have a distribution group called support@abc.com (Default SMTP) I created another SMTP account under Email address property of the account called automated@abc.com Now I am trying to send an email from the account automated@abc.com but the exchange server rejects the mail with following error "Client does not have permissions to send as this sender". Is there a known solution to this as I am able to send with similar situation on accounts still running on exchange 2003. Isaac2k2

I dont have Exchange 2003 to test with, but generally, you can not send as another account's SMTP address if that account is not the primary SMTP address. I assume that is the same with distribution lists as well. You may want to look at 3rd party products to get this to work: http://www.ivasoft.biz/choosefrom2007.shtml ChooseFrom
