Pb with cached Exchange mode
Hi Config: Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition x64 - R2 Version 5.2.3790 ServicePack 2 Nu 3790 Type x64 Microsoft Exchange Environnement: Exchange Server 2007 Microsoft Corporation - Version : 08.01.0263.000 - SP1 **** I have recently created a DG and some users cannot see the DG from Outlook with cahe mode activated. Users using OWA or Outlook without cached Exchange mode CAN do the check name on the DG. I did check the LegacyExchangeDN = OK and ran the below command: - update-GlobalAddressList -Identity "\GAL by default" - Update-OfflineAddressBook -Identity "\Offline Address book" - Start-EdgeSynchronization - Update-AddressList But I cannot make it appear in Outlook. I also swap the DG to a security one and set it back to distribution one --> did not work. Does anyone know how I could make the Outlook cached Exchange mode work??

Hi, Did u check it by manually downloading the OAB from Outlook->Tools->Send Recieve->Download Address Book? if other users can see the DG in Outlook then it means that OAB has been updated and generated on the server. Btw, very useful information on that webpage!! "Microsoft Exchange System Attendant" is the name of the service. I think there wont be any interruption as the main task of this service is to initiate the OAB generation process. Thanks Laeeq, In fact, the Service name is : MSExchangeSA but I am trying to figure out whether there will be any service interruption before restarting it. Meanwhile, would you know the service name of the File Distribution Service ??

Thanks Laeeq, In fact, the Service name is : MSExchangeSA but I am trying to figure out whether there will be any service interruption before restarting it. Meanwhile, would you know the service name of the File Distribution Service ?? I thought you want to know about the display name in services.msc. So Name: MSExchangeFDS Dispaly Name: Microsoft Exchange File Distribution As I already said that there wont be any major interruption in exchange connections if you restart the System Attendant service, and its good that you are making it sure. Hi, the1masterplan: To avoid any confusion between the two different problems, I recommend you create a new thread for your problem. Graiggoriz: If the problem persists, I recommend you create a new default address list: 1. Open EMC, expand to Organization Configuration->Mailbox, click Offline Address Book tab. 2. Create a new Offline address list. Right click this new address Book list and click Set as Default. 3. Expand to Server Configuration->Mailbox, in Database Management tab, right click your mailbox database and choose properties. 4. In Client Setting tab, specifying this new Offline Address Book for your Mailbox Store. 5. Restart the following services: Microsoft Exchange Information store, Microsoft Exchange File Distribution. 6. Open C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\OAB, make sure that the OAB Files has been copied. How information about Exchange 2007 Offline Address Book Web Distribution, please refer the following website: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/11/15/431502.aspx

Thanks Thomas and Laeep I found procedure where I had to run from my mailbox server a Test-ServiceHealth and got the below error message: (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA) I investigated and found that link: http://www.homeserverland.com/wiki/w/whs/rpc-server-unavailable-error-0x800706ba.aspx Here the description: RPC Server Unavailable Error 0x800706ba The Windows Firewall (formerly known as Internet Connection Firewall) service and Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) can cause access denied errors (such as an "RPC Server Unavailable" error - 0x800706ba) when trying to use the Grid Junction Custom Action scripts to shutdown remote clients using WMI scripts. The solution to fix the RPC Server Unavailable" error - 0x800706ba, log in as Administrator and click on Start – Run and type: Netsh firewall set service RemoteAdmin --> that command did not work because the firewall service was not started, so I restarted the SharedAccess service and ran again the command "Netsh firewall set service RemoteAdmin" It has solved my pb to create a new Storage group,.. and I'll let you know if it has solved the OAB pb
