Pagefile Initial and Max setting
I have seen a lot of articles discussing the proper settings for the Pagefile on Exchange; I chose to use the technet article as the guidline:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719.aspxA minimum page file size that is the amount of RAM plus 10 MB.The article does not address what to input for the Maximum size. I recall in the past setting the max to the same as the min...does this still hold true or would you recommend otherwise?Once set does anyone have recommendations for perfmon stats to reference to verify that the setting is optimal and at what value those should be averaging out at?Lastly I chose to place the pagefile on the d: drive; should I wipe out the pagefile on the C: drive (default), "leave as is" or change?Appreciate your comments and help in advance....thanks.yes

Hi,I am pleased to put my thought asI had same confusion at the time of deployement of my New E2k7 structure for page file and performance.Yes, Still we follow max and min size same when create page file. You should brake up page file on C and D drive when createing RAM+10 MB recommendation for exchange 2007 servers.Exp: for 32 GB of RAM you need to split into 8 GB+10MB on C and 24 GB on D drive. The store.exe tends to occupy as much as possible physical memory on the server and releases it as demanded by other processes in exchnage 2007 mailbox role.Understanding Exchange 2007 Memory Usage and its use of the Paging File::http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2008/08/06/449484.aspxAnil

Alway use a fixed page file, as there can be performance issues if the page file changes in size when the server is running. It should be 1.5x the physical ram.

Thanks for the feedback guys....just to get another set of eyes on my solution can you look over my proposed settings and give me your feedback again? I think I'll use the 1.5x RAM ratio per the Technet article. I have two server configurations (4GB RAMand 8GB RAM). That being said I plan on doing the following:8GB RAM ServersC: Page file settings:Min 4096 Max 4096D:Page file settings: Min 8192 Max 81924GB RAM Servers (trying to get more RAM for these servers but until then)C:Page file settings: Min 2048 Max 2048D:Page file settings: Min 4096 Max 4096Appreciate the help.....thanks in advance!!yes
