PST Archive Corruption.

Hi,

My problem has to do with pst file corruption. We have a 2012 Remote Desktop farm with about 100 plus users. Our users are experiencing pst archive corruption. We repair the file via scanpst and also 3rd party repair tools and the pst file is fine for a day or two and then it gets corrupted again. The pst files are kept on a Network Share (UNC) on our File Server.

We previously had the same setup but with a 2003 terminal server farm with 2007 Outlook and the pst files were fine but since moving to this new environment pst files are constantly getting corrupted.

My first question is if this RDS 2012 environment with keeping pst files on Network Shares is even a supported environment by Microsoft.

Thanks

Hi,

Network Stored PST files are not recommended by Microsoft.

.pst files are not intended as an enterprise network solution. Although it is possible to specify a network directory or a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path as a storage location for a .pst file, network usage is not meant to be a long-term, continuous-use method of storing messages in an enterprise environment.
