PPS bug on scorecard tooltip?

Hi,

When I move the cursor across or off the scorecard after deployed to Sharepoint Site, the tooltips kept on showing up even though I haven't click on anything. I don't know if there is a way tomake the tooltip disappear when the mouse cursor is not pointing to the scorecard. Thanks!

Note: We do need to enable the tooltips, but the problem is that it kept on showing up when the mouse cursor is off the scorecard.

Also what is the version of PPS Monitoring you are using?

Assem,

I changed the refresh rate, but it didn't help. I'm using Microsoft Office Performance Server 2007. Thanks!

I have noticed this too and I first noticed it with the MS BI VPC in the Adventure Works Executive Dashboard Sample. If you just hover over a scorecard item the tooltip will be displayed. If you do not close the item or click some where on the dashboard page and just hover over another report item on the same dashboard you will see a tooltip randomly display on the scorecard (even though you are hovering over a Analytic Report or some other item). The only way I have seen to turn this off is to actually close the tooltip with the 'X' or click somewhere on the dashboard page. Once you do this it seems to turn the tooltip feature off so that you can hover over other items without having these tooltips randomly display on the scorecard.

I have seen this in the RTM release up through SP2.

Not sure where you are getting that version number from. The build number for PPS SP2 is 3.0.4209.00 (PerformancePoint Server 2007 Hotfixes Available and Build List).

You must be talking about SharePoint, but for SharePoint SP2 the build (version number) is 12.0.0.6421 (Server Office SharePoint Farm Versions and hotfixes). Based on the number that you provided you would be on SP1 for SharePoint.

You will find the build number for PPS when you launch the Dashboard Designer in the lower right-hand corner (or else in the Dashboard Designer Options-->Resources section).

Dan,

FromDashboard Designer:

Assembly Version: 3.0.0.0

File Version 3.0.4209.00

Don't know if SharePoint SP2 would solve the issues. Thanks!

Hello Sundar,

Do you have any further update on this? Also, I do have the below scorecard question.

1. How to display the KPI description as a tool tip when we mouse over on the KPI name in the scorecard?

2. Any chance to display the threshold values on mouse over as a tool tip?

Appreciate if we have the solution for this PPS.

Thanks, Jey
