POP3 over SSL - cannot connect...
Here is the story: My client has SBS 2008 with Exchange 2007. They are trying to setup email archiving. The way it was requested to be done is to setup journaling and allow POP3 access to retrieve messages from the jouraling account. All went well, except when they are trying to Telnet to port 995, instead of POP greeting they get 220 mailserver.domain.local Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Thu, 23 Jun 2011 13:43:17 -0600 I verified pop3 is configured to listen to port 995 on SSL connections. Authentication is set to secure logon. If you have any ideas where to go with troubleshooting next, please send them my way. I'm pretty stuck right now. Tried to setup Outlook to conect to the server, I can connect and work on port 110 (that's without checking use SSL), but if I try to check Use SSL, I get this from Outlook: Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption method. Contact your mail server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for additional assistance
