I am having the exact same problem. When I try to start IMap the system hangs for a long time. Eventually a message box pops up saying that it can't be started and that I should look at the Windows Event Log for more information. I've checked all the logs and there is no mention of anything related to IMAP.What is going on? Can anyone offer up suggestions for how to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help!

I will answer my own question. Since this result comes up near the top of Google, hopefully this will help other people in the future as well. It's just a matter of making sure the right services are set to start automatically.See:http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2042574&SiteID=17
