Outlook with multiple user email how to remove the user name from exchange log in prompt?

We have multiple machines that have users that no longer work for us, the manager in the department wants all records of these users removed from the machine. Once the user select his/her from the drop down list for their email account outlook prompts for the user name and password, the individual that no longer work here is being auto filled in the user name block. Is it possible to remove the auto fill and clear this from outlook to exchange server prompt?

Which screen are you  looking in? Close Outlook,  go to Control panel, Mail and delete the profiles.

I have done that, in fact it was the first task I completed, the users sign in as one generic user then the open Outlook and choose their user name that is all correct.  The problem is when outlook connects to exchange server it is auto filling the name they want that to stop, is it possible to change the setting so that the prompt comes up blank so that they have to enter their own name?

Hi

Thank you for using Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.

From your description, We can try to create a multiple profile.

Here are the detailed steps:

  1. Exit Outlook.
  2. Go to Start > Control Panel, click or double-click Mail.
  3. Click Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Type a name for the profile, and then click OK.
  6. Highlight the profile, and choose Properties. Then Email Accounts..., add your email account in the profile.
  7. Start Outlook, and choose profile which user login

Sincerely

William Zhou

William Zhou, how does adding a profile remove a login name from Outlook's exchange server login prompt list?

For me, I was in windows explorer trying to log in to a network file server (a different network than the exchange server), and now the login name I used for the network file server shows up when trying to log in to Outlook! I tried Delete, Shift+Delete and various combinations of shift, alt, ctrl, delete and backspace with the name highlighted in the list.

The undesired name also shows up in autodiscover (Office Communicator) prompt for credentials.

I don't know if it's important or not, but the names in the list are not alphabetically listed. (Maybe it's a last in on top/LIFO list.)

The network login dialog shows the last used log in.

Not sure if this also applies to Outlook - it if works, please remember to post back.
