Outlook search not working on one RD session host server with Office 365

Our environment is as follows:

1 x Windows 2012 R2 DC/File server hosting redirected .ost files for users

3 x Windows 2008 R2 RD session host servers in a load-balanced farm - users access the desktop   & use Outlook 2013 to connect to Exchange in the cloud [Office 365]

Outlook is set by GPO to cache 6 months.

The networked ost files are as per https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/297019

Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2010 functionality is supported when networked .pst or .ost files are used under the following conditions:
  • A high bandwidth/low latency network connection is used.
  • There is single client access per file (one Outlook client per .pst or .ost).
  • Either Windows Server 2008 R2 or later Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH), or Windows Server 2008 R2 or later Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is used to run Outlook remotely.

We have an issue where intermittently the search function stops working for users on 1 RD server - moving the user to another server clears the issue. The problem server shows a large number of 3036 warnings relating to the search when this occurs.
