Hello all, I am having an issue after install SP1 for exchange 2007. I have a user that has 30 or so rules. When they try and add another rule into outlook 2007 they get this error. "One or more rules cannot be uploaded to Microsoft Exchange and have been deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported, or there is insufficient space to store all of your rules." I fell like this is a size limitation because when I uncheck one rule and apply another rule it will take the new rule. I am aware that Exchange 2007 by default has a 64kb size limit for rules quota. I have increased the size limit to 256kb. This still does not fix the issue. I had the user open OWA and try and create a rule and we got this error. "Outlook Web Access cannot save the rule that you specified. Either the rule exceeds the maximum size limit for individual rules, or all your rules together, including this rule, exceed the size limit for rules. Remove some conditions, actions, or exceptions and try again." I am really lost as to why this is happening. I upgraded to SP1 yesterday and this is when we started to get this error. I don't know if SP1 had something to do with it or was my user right at the 64kb limit. Thanks for any help!! Chris Koskodan

Did you ever find a resolution? We are having a very similar issue. In our case, the user has 74 rules. She hit the 64K rulesquota limit, so we bumped it up to 256K. She was able to create a few more rules after we bumped it up, but then she started seeing the same error messages as you described again. When I export the rules from Outlook, the file size is 90K, which tells me we are well below the 256K limit.

Aaron, My user is not having any more issues with rules. I can not remeber if we did anything else. I think that we rebooted the exchange server and he was able to keep adding rules. I know that this probley does not help you. I wish I had more info for you. Chris

Chris, I would like to know what will be the impact on exchange server if we enable the rules limits to 256 KB for all exchange mailboxes or few users say ~100... does it has any performance issue on the echange? Thanks, Toufiq.
