Outlook requirement

Hi All,

I have a requirement, Need a way to achieve it.

When an email comes to the mailbox, I wanted an Auto reply to be sent out to the sender and at the same time I wanted the received email to get moved into a specific folder (sub folder under inbox or any folder).

So, I configured two rules in Outlook 2010 as below:

1) Have server Auto reply using specific message

2) Move received emails (email sent to the smtp address of the mailbox) to another folder.

The surprising thing is that only one rule takes action but not both.

Can someone suggest me how to make this work (make both rules trigger their action) ?

Hi,

Which rule is taking the action? The first or the second?

Have you tried selecting the two actions within one rule? This works in my environment.

If it's not convenient to add both two actions within one rule, please open the two rules separately and make sure you didn't select the "Stop processing more rules" action in both rules.

Hi,

I also perform this on my Outlook, Please assure that you follow these steps: -

  1. Click on File > Info > Manage Rules & Alerts.
  2. Click on New Rule > Select a template.
  3. In the area marked: Edit rule description, click on the underlined text in order to specify the details of your rule. > Next.

I hope this information will be helpful for you.

Thanks and regards

Hi Steve,

It works for all but not with the exact requirement mentioned above.

But can you try with the above exact requirement and let me know if it works ?

when one of the rule is auto reply rule, only then I get this problem.

In rest of the cases, it works fine, I have seven rules and they all work fine and take action as per the rule.
