You may use a tool called Advanced Outlook Data Recovery to scan the whole formatted hard disk you used to store your PST file in the past. The tool will collect all the Outlook data on the disk, and recover them and output a new fixed PST file. You need to make sure the fixed PST file is outputted to an external USB drive, to prevent it from overwriting the existing hard disk data.

You can make autobackup of your data and to save it on storage device. It is more reliable decision:)
