I have gone through the referred link, but not able to relate my issue with those mentioned there. In my case, my users are able to download adressbooks fine. Test E-mail Autoconfiguration does not gice any error. The OAB and other directories are enabled for Integrated authentication too. I can see some users getting connection prompt for their mailbox servers too.

Check info: 1. Please describe the exchange topology, windows server/client version 2. Does the prompt happen repeatedly? How many times do users have to enter the password before accessing the outlook? Whats the error info if users cancel the prompted window? 3. Is there any error info/event in the application log on the both client/server side? 4. Can the users access OWA without any warning windows? 5. Whether the issue happens to internal domain clients with MAPI, external client with outlook anywhere, or both? 6. Please refer this article to verify the settings of exchange-related virtual directories 7. Please check the output of the cmdlet below: Test-OutlookWebServices identity AliasOfProblematicUser

1. Please describe the exchange topology, windows server/client version We have 6 mailbox servers (2 windows clusters having 4 node each, 3 active 1 passive), 4 CAS/Hub server in a single site region. OS: Windows Server 2003 SP2, Client Outlook 2007 2. Does the prompt happen repeatedly? How many times do users have to enter the password before accessing the outlook? Whats the error info if users cancel the prompted window? User can still access the outlook when they cancel the prompt. If they try to fill in user ID and password it keeps on prompting untill outllook in closed. There are only few users who are reporting this issue not all, that's what bothering me. 3. Is there any error info/event in the application log on the both client/server side? No errors observed. 4. Can the users access OWA without any warning windows? Yes. 5. Whether the issue happens to internal domain clients with MAPI, external client with outlook anywhere, or both? For MAPI users on LAN. 6. Please refer this article to verify the settings of exchange-related virtual directoriesAll are correctly set except for RPC where only authentication method is Basic. 7. Please check the output of the cmdlet below: Test-OutlookWebServices identity AliasOfProblematicUser Below is the test result: Id : 1003 Type : Information Message : About to test AutoDiscover with the e-mail address Test@etest.com. Check info: 1. So, the issue only happened to certain internal MAPI users. Does the issue still persist if you create problematic mailbox on the fine users machine? 2. What did problematic users do when the symptom occur? Did they try to open any item or attachment? 3. What showed in the Connection status window on the problematic outlook? Are all connections fine? 4. Please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration on the problematic outlook, see if theres any error info 5. Please use Network Monitor to capture the traces when the symptom reproduced, and look for the relevant error info. Or, you can send it to me, and provide the info about the timeslot, machine names, IP addresses, and so on for analyzing Resources: How to capture network traffic with Network Monitor
