Outlook password prompt for mailboxes on Exchange 2013 CU1
I migrated a few users from our Exchange 2007 SP3 Update 10 server to Exchange 2013 CU1. Now in Outlook they are getting a password prompt, and it won't accept their password. Our public folders are still on Exchange 2007 if that makes a difference.

I tried running

     Test-OutlookConnectivity -GetDefaultsFromAutoDiscover:$true

but it says it doesn't recognize the parameter -GetDefaultsFromAutoDiscover:$true

Here's the values for Get-OutlookAnywhere:

ExternalHostname                   : legacy.domain.com
InternalHostname                   :
ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Ntlm
InternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Ntlm
IISAuthenticationMethods           : {Ntlm}

ExternalHostname                   : mail.domain.com
InternalHostname                   : clippers.domain.local
ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Negotiate
InternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Negotiate
IISAuthenticationMethods           : {Negotiate}

Hi Graffiti,

What version of Outlook are you using?

Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2010. I think I may have solved it by setting the AuthenticationMethods from negotiate to NTLM. I'll have to test this weekend after I migrate another mailbox.

Hi GraffitiK

Hi

I have a similar issue, where an external user on vista with outlook 2010 can not connect, the password is not accepted at the prompt, however the user can access outlook from other external windows 7 / office 2010 outlook clients.

The Authentication Method you changed, was this on exchange or in outlook settings?

Regards
