Outlook name resolution
Can an Exchange 2007 hub/cas role server be used for name resolution in Outlook? When creating a new Outlook profile, if I use a server that doesn't have the mailbox role, I get an "Outlook cannot logon" error. Ted

Nope. Exchange 2007 MAPI traffic goes to the Mailbox role Exchange 2010 MAPI traffic goes to the Client Access role. ... with the exception of traffic to Public Folders that still goes to Mailbox role in both 2007 & 2010. Jesper Bernle | Blog: http://xchangeserver.wordpress.com

Hi Ted, In Exchange 2007, internal clients connect directly to Mailbox Server role for mailbox access. So you should provide the Mailbox server name for name resolution.
