"Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the MS Exchange server on DomainControllerName" Why are my domain controllers being referenced when Outlook 2003 opens or looks for new messages. The Exchange Server is 2003 and the domain controllers are running on Windows 2003 Server. Workstations are WinXp sp3 with Office 2003. Please Help!

Outlook is referred to the DCs for the address book: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123968(EXCHG.65).aspx As to why you are getting that message, thats the tough part. Are the DCs that are GCs healthy? Any network issues? Run ExBpa against the Exchange Servers as well.
