Hi,You need to run couple of checks to see if the configuration is good.https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/Also try Test E-mail Auto configuration. Press ctrl+right click on Outlook icon on system tray.If these two tests are fine, then configurations are OK. If not , then you need to follow the links one by one.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998934(EXCHG.80).aspxhttp://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_24173923.htmlRaj

The certificate that you installed during setup was the default self-signed certificate, it is will not work with Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003 clients that are using Outlook Anywhere. To correct the problem you need to purchase (from a 3rd party like GoDaddy.com) and install a SSL certificate. Here are some helpful links on configuring Outlook Anywhere:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123889(EXCHG.80).aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc164344(EXCHG.80).aspx#OAhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125165(EXCHG.80).aspx

maumen: The certificate that you installed during setup was the default self-signed certificate, it is will not work with Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003 clients that are using Outlook Anywhere. This is not correct. Outlook Anywhere works fine with self-signed certificates. SBS domain-joined computers get the SBS certificate installed automatically. If the problem is with this certificate, the computer is not joined to the SBS domain. Then you need to install the certificate manually from, by default: \\sbs-name\public\Downloads\Certificate Distribution Package. To make Autodiscover work with this certificate, you must configure an SRV record:http://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/2008/12/18/autodiscover-and-dns.aspxMCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M | Small Business Specialist

Ok I broke down and purchases a ssl from godaddy, a multi domain one. Do i use the wizard in the sbs console, and will this work for the exchange server and RWW site? The way i read it, you only have one shot at making the cert if i screw up the cert will need to be re purchased. Please if someone could give me specific instructions for my sbs2008 it would be great!Bye the way this is for the external use of outlook express and mobile devicesThanks

Hi have u generate the certificate wizards in sbs2008. if you did then you have default certificate which is remote.test.com you must have static ipaddress as well. you need to test with owa first make that address trusted website, go back again same website and install certificate in trusted root certificate once you installed the certificate check your email first using owa then use rpc over proxy. that should work perfect. I done with so many clients this setting all works fine no problemNaeem Bhatti MCITP EA, MCITP, MCTS Exchange 2007 MCSE security,MCSE AD, MCSE in Messaging, MCDST SBS2003 and SBS2008 Specialist
