Outlook asking for credentials - exchange 2007
Hi, We have SBS 2007 & recently did a bunch of updates and since then Outlook has been popping up asking for Credentials. Also, Out Of Office has not been working, saying that it could not contact the server. I have checked the certificate & verified it has all of the correct naming in it & we don't seem to be getting any errors / warnings in the event logs. With the Out Of Office error, resetting iis seems to fix that up temporarily. The TestEmailConfiguration in Outlook results in the password prompt, but the log shows: Autodiscover to https://server/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml failed (0x80040113) Any ideas?

Run: Get-ClientAccessServer | FL AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri and verify that the URL is correct for Autodiscover. If it's wrong you may use Set-ClientAccessServer to fix it. There may be a wizard in SBS that takes care of this, so you might want to post your question on the SBS forum.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hello, Manually access the autodiscover url via IE and see whats the error code. You can also check the IIS log to find more detailed error code. Generally, you can first try rebuilding the autodiscover virtual directory to troubleshoot this issue Thanks, Simon

Hi, Thanks for the reply, if i try accessing https://server/autodiscover internally i get prompted for credentials and if i use the domain administrator creds, it won't accept it at all. The same is for external access too. I have gone through the permissions on both the Autodiscover site under SBS Web Applications in IIS & compared to other server where i know this issue doesn't occur and can't seem to see much. The Logs havn't recorded anything out of the usual either. I will keep having a hunt around IIS.

Hi, I managed to get this fixed by fully patching Exchange. It didn't have Sp2 installed so that fixed it.
