Outlook anywhere troubles
Hi, I have been working on getting RCP/http to work for like week and no success so far.I hope someone can figure out or point to the right direction to get this outlook anywhere to work from outside the Lan. Here is my environement : Exchange 2007 sp1I have 2 client acces sservers( cas1, cas2) in NLB cluster running win2k8 with the rollup 6 and all the OS patches. The host name of the cluster is mail.domain.com and it's on our external DNS,So I enabled outlook anywhere ,pointed the URl to mail.domain.edu I also pointed oabvirtualdirectory, webservicevirtualdirectory and autodicoveryvirtualdirectory to mail.domain.edu so i can take advantage of the NLB the 2 cas have san certificate installed with the name : autodiscover.domain.edu cas1.doamin.edu cas2.domain.edu mail.domain.edu domain.edu owa is working just fine and inside the lan everything is working . I went home and start testing outlook anywhere: 1- it would not work and it was having hard time finding the url://autodiscover.domain.edu/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml to fix this one I added the alias autodiscover.domain.edu for mail.domain.edu in our external DNS, after that outlook anywhere will discover and keep prompting for login screen and no matter what credentials I put I fail. so today I changed the auto discover URL to point to cas1 and tested outlook anywhere from the shell but I'm getting some errors that I don't how to fix : [PS] C:\Windows\System32>test-outlookwebservices | FL Id: 1003 Type : Information Message : About to test AutoDiscover with the e-mail address aversa@domain.edu. Hi, Please let me know whether I understand that the current situation correctly: The OWA works well from both internal and external. Nevertheless, Outlook Anywhere only works in the internal environment but fail to connect. You have added the autodiscover.domain.edu into external DNS. Nevertheless, the Outlook prompts for passwords repeatedly. At this time, I suggest we focus on Outlook Anywhere issue firstly. Would you please let me know? 1. Whether the any certificate related error is encountered when accessing OWA from external client. I assume the RPC virtual directory and OWA virtual directory on the same site 2. Whether NTLM authentication is enabled when configuring Outlook Anywhere. If I am right, I suggest you change it to Basic authentication and manually configure Outlook Anywhere profile to test the issue again. Mike

Hi Mike,Thanks for getting back to me.I have found out that the issue was with the SAN certificate *issued to field* which was pointing to domain.edu while the msstd was pointing to mail.domain.edu.Once I processed new SAN cert with the correct *issued to field*outlook anywhere is working like champ.Thislink made me aware of the issue:http://www.gilham.org/Blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?List=aab85845%2D88d2%2D4091%2D8088%2Da6bbce0a4304&ID=278Once Again Thanks Mike.
