Outlook anywhere cert issue on co-existence 2007 to 13

Hi,

I have found an issue on outlook anywhere. I have ssl cert with *.abc.com. This cert is attached on IIS & when I open OWA, ECP the URL picks up the correct ssl cert. but when I go to configure outlook anywhere on client side it show that "mismatch certificate" I found from "fiddler4' that it try to go to internal servername "ex2013.xyz.local" while the external URL that works on OWA is '"mail13.abc.com" ( Even SSL cert is *.abc.com). How can I point to outlook anywhere to not read local machine name & go to "mail13.abc.com" to resolved the cert issue, because there is no trusted cert against the machine name.

Can any body tell me the fix of this issue?

First you need to find out what your URL's are...

Get-ClientAccessServer | fl name, autodiscover*

Get-OutlookAnywhere | fl servername, *URL

Get-OutlookProvider

In your current scenario, I would suggest you to follow the instructions given into this well explained technet article that covers almost all the required steps while migrating from Exchange 2007 to 2013 : http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2013/07/25/part-2-step-by-step-exchange-2007-to-2013-migration.aspx

Moreover, while need to migrate users mailboxes between Exchange 2007 and 2013, you may also consider on this automated solution (http://www.exchangemailboxmigration.com/) that seems to be a good alternative approach to get this job done without having downtime.

Hi Usman,

Please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration Tool in client side to check your autodiscover service and retrieve other services URL to confirm whether there is any URL still using namespace "ex2013.xyz.local":

Open Outlook - press CTRL key - right click on the Outlook icon from right bottom corner taskbar - Test Email AutoConfiguration. Put your email address - uncheck use guessmart and secure guessmart authentication - click Test to check your Autodiscover service.

Check the Log tab information and command results.

If there is any service using "ex2013.xyz.local" instead of "mail13.abc.com", please following the KB below to change the URL settings:

Can you share a screen shot of the certificate error? It will also help if you can provide the outputs of the commands i asked for (of course scrub sensitive information)

The picture shows the cert error. It is going to the domain & find the cert from "servername.xyz.com" ( it is a local domain), while the cert is ssl & belongs to *. abc.com thats why its showing an error

More over can any one tell me , that on " microsoft exchange auth certificate", the subject altenative name space is empty. Should it be empty or any domain name should be exist?
