Outlook anywhere
We have a number of our users who work out of their homes and are on NON domain joined computers who use outlook anywhere to connect and use basic authentication. At our head office we have additional users who have laptops that are on our domain and outlook anywhere. THey have NTLM authentication. our ourlook anywhere is setup to access both NTLM and basic authentication for both types of users. The problem I am having is our setting for clientauthenticatinomethod is set to basic and when the autodiscovery setting hits our domain joined computers it swithces the outlook anywhere settings and switches the authentication from NTLM to basic causing issues, now switch clinetauthenticationmethod to NTLM won't solve the issue as then our home users will have problems. What I need is a way to totally prevent the outlook anywhere settings on a clinet machine getting overwrittent by the autodiscovery service. thoughts?

Run the command post your output. Don't worry about preventing autodiscover from overwriting, OA should work for both your non domain joined and as well as domain joined. I have a feeling that the IISAuthenticationMethods is restricted to only one logon method. get-outlookanywhere |fl ClientAuthenticationMethod, IISAuthenticationMethodsJames Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Never mind. The system should work nevertheless. Have a look at your Outlook conffiguration. There is a register card connection in the advances settings. There you are able to configure the PROXY Settings. Two types you are able to configure, fast ans slow networks. If both point to your Outlook anywhere URL then each Time Outlook is started the userr hase to enter his unserrname and password. Leave the setting fast connection empty. regards Thomas Paetzold visit my blog on: http://sus42.wordpress.com
