Outlook Web Access - notes not displayed when Contacts are viewed
SBS 2003 Server. A remote user connects to OWA using an XP Professional or Vista Home PC (IE7) and opens one of his Contacts. All the form information is present except for the Notes. Instead of the information there is a red "X" in a square box (like there is a missing image file). Opening the same contact from a Blackberry handheld shows all the notes information intact. The notes are important because the company uses this section to record ongoing client issues and opportunities. Where can I go to start troubleshooting this problem? Thank you for your help! -- .../Paul

If you are using form based authentication for OWA logon, please check ESM->..>Http protocol->find the virtual server. then please check if you have enabledd compressed? If it was compressed, please choose not compress and then restart IISADMIN service to check effect. -Jason

Besides, please check the below kb article: OWA cannot resolve an e-mail address when a Lotus Notes domain name is appended to the sender's address in Exchange Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837346/en-us Hope it helps. Xiu

Thank you Jason. I'm not familiar with all the acronyms. Where can I check if I am using "form based authentication"? What is ESM? I look forward to your reply.

Xiu, thank you for replying. My issue is unrelated to Lotus Notes. My problem is not being able to view the Notes field in a Contacts entry when connecting via OWA.

Hi, First please try to confirm whether all the OWA users can view notes fields for contacts. Please check if Contacts is in public folder or contact is created from GAL via Outlook? Then please try to create a new contact with notes field filled and then test the issue. Is there any attachment added in Notes field of Contacts ? If yes, please check whether URLScan has been installed on the Exchange Server. If yes, then please change VerifyNormalization to 0 1. Open the URLScan.ini file2 Change the following value from 1 to 0 for this line:VerifyNormalization=0 If only one user cannot view notes fields for Contacts, then the issue may related to the setting on client. Please try to use other Internet Browser to access OWA. How to manage Outlook Web Access features in Exchange Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830827/en-us Hope it helps. Xiu
