Outlook Synchronisation Error 0x8004010F
Hi , I have two clients outlook with same user account in cache mode try downloading the OAB . One client outlook dont have any issue , but another one unable to download and will have sync error 0x8004010F A server URL could not be found . After read up some post , i perform test autodiscover. i realiase both client has different way to detect autodiscover. The client no problem will use below url : https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml But the problem client will default use : Local autodiscover for domain starting local autodiscover for domain FAILED (0x8004010F) Redirect check for http://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml So my question how to i change the problematic client check for the correct URL ? Why there a different behaviour for two client . Btw all client are same outlook 2007 with same patch and version.

Are the two clients using the same DNS servers? In the same AD site? On the same mailbox server?Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

Hi, First please check the article that Jonas mentioned. Then please try to run Test E-mail autoconfiguration from outlook and then check the url for OAB. You can post the report here for further troubleshootings.(both the normal one and the problematic one.) Please try to browse the OAB url from IE, if any error occur, please post it here. Besides, I'd like to know if we configure outlook anywhere on those two machine. Are those two machine in the domain? Regards, Xiu

Hi sorry for late update . Took a while to troubleshoot this error and found out the root cause by help of Kevin Xu Microsoft Engineer. It was due to outlook autodiscover config corrupted in the client machine. The outlook always use local config to perform discover. Solutions: Back up the following registry and rename them: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Extensions (If it exists) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Extensions (If it exists) Restart the Outlook.

Have further update for this issue . Reason it solved the problem actually is because i rename : "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook" and inside have one folder name autodiscover . Under the folder somehow the :Excludehttpsautodiscoverdomain , Excludescplookup , Excludesrvrecord .. all was disable . (Value 1) So after change the settings back to 0 then no more sync error . Out of office and free busy all able to open . Thanks to below link: http://exchangemaster.wordpress.com/ Have interesting article that you can set the local autodiscover for client PCs
