Outlook Prompt Before Opening Attachments?

Is it possible to have Outlook prompt you before opening attachments?  Our current behavior opens attachments automatically when double clicking them.

Hi,

What type of Windows operation system are you using? What version of Outlook are you using?

You may try the following steps to see if it works:

1. Open the Registry Editor.

2. In HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, look for the extension that you want to change. So for a zip-file you locate;
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.zip

3. Note the (Default) value for that hive. For a zip-file this is;
CompressedFolder

4. Now locate that description in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT hive. So in our example you locate;
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CompressedFolder

5. Here youll find a key named EditFlags. Double click to open it and change the 3rd group of 2 digits to 00.
In our example the default value for that key is;
00 00 00 00
