Outlook LAN cliets cannot connect to Exchange 2010 server: The action cannot be completed
I have a new Exchange 2010 server with some mailboxes on, but cannot seem to connect with any LAN client (tried 3 so far). OWA /works/ internally, is the weird thing (from the same clients that can't connect using Outlook). I've tried manual and automatic configuration. Outlook 2007 tells me: "The Action Cannot be Completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." During automatic configuration, a login box pops up like it WANTS to connect, but it still gives the error... I DO have a public (CoGdaddy) UCC cert installed on the server. My clients do have a default gateway... I can successfully ping+nslookup the exchange server (and the GC server) and the domain name.. I've even tried setting up Outlook with RPC settings and it still gives me the error! Please help!!

Hi PDXBen, Do you mean that OWA can work well, only Outlook have issue to connect the Exchange Server ? If so, I suggest you follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem: 1. Check the event log, and paste the related information in your next post. 2. Please check the services on Exchange Server, some services don’t start also may cause this issue. 3. How about other clients, do you use Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2003 to have a try?
