Error message:
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Errors detected in file C:\Documents and settings\PineCrest\local\applications\settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst. Quit Outlook and all mail-enables applications, and then use the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair the errors in the file.
When i first started getting this message, I could open outlook and do one function like send or reply to an email. But only one action then I would get the message. I had to shut it down and open it back up and then I could run one action again. But now, I can't even open Outlook at all.
I am unable to find this file the error message asks for. I cannot find the inbox repair tool. I have used various scan tools available over the net but they turn up nothing. I used the online help and the files are not where they say they are. My last resort is to pay 129$ for stellar phonix to activate their software and try to move all my contacts, emails out into express.
I have also ran the uninstall from the disk and then reinstall hoping to fix the file, but that didn't work either. Any idea?
This is in Outlook 2007
