Outlook Anywhere for specific users
I'm using Exchange 2007 server on Windows 2008 Server. I've configured the Outlook Anywhere and it works fine. At the same time I don't want everyone to use Outlook Anywhere or in other words is there a way I can disable the feature likewise we do it for OWA/POP3/IMAP etc. I've run this comdlet Set-CASMailbox -Identity tony@contoso.com -MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHttp:$false doesn't seem to work. thanks

That is the correct command to do what you want - but you want it to be TRUE. Don't forget that any sessions that are currently in use will continue to work, the permission change will only take effect next time the user connects. If you want to block it for everyone then use this command: Get-mailbox | Set-CASMailbox -MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHttp:$True Then enable it on a per user basis. That command will need to be run for new users. If you want to be able to add and remove users to a group for access you would have to use ISA, or use a script to query the list at frequent intervals and adjust as required. You could set options in a group policy using the office customization tool and gp templates. believe this sets up outlook as needed and then greys out the option to change.

You could set options in a group policy using the office customization tool and gp templates. believe this sets up outlook as needed and then greys out the option to change. That will not stop anyone with Outlook 2007 or higher on their home machine from accessing it. A machine based system isn't appropriate here, it needs to be a user based control. I agree with Simon. I'll try it connecting Outlook Anywhere outide my network and make sure it should not work for all users except few ones.
