Outlook Anywhere Problem
Having a problem with Outlook Anywhere where the proxy server url defaults to the internal name of the CAS server. This was also happening for the msstd setting but I resolved
by running set-outlookprovider cmdlet.

Hi
How have you configured Outlook Anywhere?

Have you tested the connection through https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/ ?Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog:

Hi,
Form your description, I understand that the proxy server URL for your Outlook Anywhere defaults to the internal name of the CAS server
and it also happened to the MSSTD setting. For this issue, If you have configure Autodiscover for your Outlook Anywhere, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem.
Step 1:
Please check your CertPrincName:
CertPrincName is only used for EXPR types. It specifies the SSL certificate principal name required when connecting externally from the
Exchange topology and using SSL. For example, if SERVER were specified as "fourthcoffee.com" and CERTPRINCNAME were left blank the default value of CERTPRINCNAME would be "msstd:fourthcoffee.com".
When user connect to Autodiscover Server, the Autodiscover service will come from an Outlook client and then will return both the Internal
URLs and External URLs, if the parameters Server and CertPrincName are $null. The Service Discovery will return to the client the best CAS for Outlook Anywhere.

Step 2:
Please check the external url for Availability Service, OAB virtual directory and Unified Messaging virtual directory and ExternalHostName
for Outlook Anywhere. Here is a related article for you:

If you did not configure Autodiscover, please tell me more about the topology of your Exchange.
If the problem still exists, please feel free to let me know and I will be glad to help.

Evan
