Outlook Anywhere - the name cannot be matched to a name in the address list

Hi all

I have installed and configured Exchange 2013 for multi tenancy.

  • Three MBX/CAS Servers
  • Two IIS ARR Servers for External Access
  • Edge Transport Server
  • DAG File Share Witness

Everything works, except Outlook Anywhere internally, which gives me the following error:

Check Name Error

All my virtual directories are configured to use the same URL's internally and externally.

  • Internally they resolve directly to two of the three CAS/MBX servers (using DNS round-robin),
  • Externally they resolve to two Reverse Proxy Servers (IIS ARR), also using DNS round-robin.

I have configured the following for each Tenant:

  • Global Address List
  • All Rooms address list
  • All Users address list
  • All Contacts address list
  • All Groups address list
  • Offline Address Book
  • E-mail address policy
  • Address Book policy

I have verified that all users are members of "Default Global Address List", and also the custom Tenant Address List.

Running the "Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer", things looks fine (both local version and browser one).

Help is highly appreciated! :)

Hi Frode,
I suggest you Verify the user object is getting listed in the Global Address list
Check whether user is configured Hidden from Exchange address lists
Open Adsiedit- Go to Domain partion Select the user object Right Click on the user and select Properties check the value of LegacyExchangeDN
Also verify the below attributes (homeMDB, homeMTA, legacyExchangeDN, mail, mailNickname, msExchHomeServerName, msExchMailboxGuid, msExchMailboxSecurityDescriptor, proxyAddresses) value which plays vital role in Exchange.

Please check  this  as well
