We have a problem that our Outlook 2013 clients cant search public folders. Any search we try returns empty results. We are running exchange 2013. Outlook is running in cached mode.

Although a full text search of public folder content is available, public folder content isnt searchable across public folders and the content isnt indexed by Exchange Search.

To solve the issues in Outlook 2013, please follow these steps: -

In order to have the Instant Search feature for Public Folders behave the same as for your mailbox, the following conditions must be meet: -

• Outlook must be configured to cache Public Folder Favorites.

(and of course the caching and indexing must have been completed)

• The Public Folder must be marked as a Public Folder Favorite.

• The search must be performed from within the Favorites section of your Public Folders tree and not from its actual location within All Public Folders.
