Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.1 Replies/Forwards Signature Keeps Populating After Removal
As the title suggests, every time I set the replies/forwards signature to "none," it repopulates after a reboot or after Outlook is restarted. It will stay at "none" so long as Outlook is left open. We are in an Exchange/AD environment. The user's logon script is the most current that we've been using, and he is the only one with this issue. We've deleted his .ost and rebuilt his .pst to no avail. User does have multiple(3) signatures in C:\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\microsoft\signatures, but I don't see why that would be an issue, I guess that's why I'm asking you guys. The signature that keeps repopulating is the same one he uses for New Messages, so I can't just delete it. (As to WHY he can't just live with a reply signature, is beyond me.) I can't seem to find ANY info on this issue and any help would be appreciated. Just hoping someone has seen this before and it's right in front of my face. If any other information is needed on my end, please let me know. Thanks much.

Hi,

I haven't seen this issue before, but there is something we can try to narrow down this issue.

First please check if the user has the registry key setting to use a default Reply Signature:

Important Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.

Press Win + R, type "regedit" in the blank box, press Enter.

Locate the following key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Common\MailSettings

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Common\MailSettings

Check if the following value exists under the MailSettings registry key:

Name: ReplySignature
Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ

If the value exists, please delete this value and start Outlook to check the result. Maybe somehow this user configured the default reply signature via registry before, let's see the result without this value.

If the user doesn't have the registry key above configured, may I know if the reply signature is stick to one specific signature? If yes, move this signature file out of %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures, then re-create it in Outlook, check if the problem persists.
