Outlook 2013 lose/intermittent conection over vpn

Hi I am running Outlook 2013 in cached Exchange mode.

I keep getting the notification that says Outlook is 'disconnected' from Exchange, then it keeps trying to connect, then it goes to 'Limited Connectivity'. This while in the VPN.

When I'm connected directly to internet or in the company building, this doesn't happen.

I tested the Exchange Proxy Setting, I notice that I can ping the proxy server and hit the https url on the internet. I couldn't ping it on the VPN, but I was able to hit the URL

This is all whilst I am on the Wireless or LAN. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot/how to fix?

I changed my VPN connection from TCP to UDP and now the Outlook seems to be working without problem
