Outlook 2013 email stucked in outbox without error

Hi there,

I'm using MS Surface pro3, Windows 10 with Office 365. Outlook is connecting to Hotmail account. It was working fine in the past, but suddenly stuck out going mail. Tried tech notes on web and applied, Antivirus also totally removed etc. but no help.

Issue is only with Outlook. If I use my mobile phone email (or) "Mail" apps, it is working fine.

Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

Are they stay forever in outbox? Check that you don't have some active defere delivery rule in Outlook. Also disable antispam or antivirus plugins.

If not, you can try to recreate profile.

It could be that one message is corrupt and stopping all the others. Create a temp folder in Outlook. Drag all of the messages out of the Outbox into the temp folder. Restart Outlook. Try to send a new message. If that works, open messages in temp folder one at a time and click Send. Might have to drag them into Drafts to get the Send option again. Good luck!

Thank you for advice. Undelivered message remain in outbox forever. There is no defer delivery rule, AV is disabled at all, created new profile and tested - no help.

One strange thing - when I receive a new email and replied within a short time, it successfully sent out. However, create new email (or) reply email after couple of hours, it will be stuck. :(

One last thing I'm thinking is - to wipe out and reload entire windows then fresh install Outlook. Will it be helpful?

Hi,

For troubleshooting, you can try that method to fresh install Outlook since it works in Mail app and mobile phone number.

Contact to Surface support, they have dial in and checked. Found the Windows file corruption and fixed. Very happy with their service. Thanks to all who has provided advices here.
