Outlook 2013 doesn't sync after the initial sync using Charter email

Has anyone come across this IMAP issue:  When I open  Outlook 2013 in the morning,  everything syncs up just fine.  I leave Outlook open for the rest of the day, nothing will sync up unless I close and reopen Outlook or I take Outlook  offline and back online.  I have deleted and recreated the account in the profile, tried new profile, put INBOX in the root,  and  different PC's.   The email account is with Charter.  There is no syncing issues if I use Windows Mail.

Hi,

Based on the description, the account settings are correct since it can sync just fine when Outlook is open. But something seems to stop Outlook from syncing since then.

Please check the Send/Receive Group in Outlook to make sure the send/receive frequency has not been set too long:

SEND/RECEIVE tab -> Send & Receive -> Send/Receive Groups -> Define Send & Receive Groups.

On other thing that concern me is you have tried creating the account with a new profile, so it also could be a program that interferes with Outlook. Please try disabling the firewall and anti-virus temporarily to check the result too. To dig it further, we can even perform a clean boot to check the result.

Hi,

We can define the issue as the send/receive settings are not working as expected in Outlook, we may need to reset the send/receive settings then.

Please browse to this location below:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

Find the file with ".srs" extension, rename it to ".old". Outlook will generate a new one when it starts the next time, check if the problem persists.
