Outlook 2013 does not open after Windows / updates

Hi,

I had installed Office 2013 on my Windows PC. I got updates for Office 2013 and after that my Outlook stoped working. It did not open except in safe mode. I checked similar problems and tried to remove add ins in safe mode but still does not work. Tried to create new profile no success. Then I tried to re install it yesterday and it worked fine until I got updates again today and it stops open again.

Is something wrong with Office 2013 updates?

Any suggestion/solutions to fix this problem.

Hi,

Since Outlook works fine in safe mode, you can also try to open Outlook with /safe:1 and /safe:3 commands to narrow down the cause.

/safe:1  Starts Outlook with the Reading Pane off.

/safe:3  Both native and managed Component Object Model (COM) add-ins are turned off.

Please also try to open Outlook with /resetnavpane command to check if this issue is caused by corrupted Navigation Pane settings. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook.exe /resetnavpane and press Enter.

If above not working, please try to use the Inbox Repair Tool to scan and repair your Outlook data file errors to check the result. See:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/repair-outlook-data-files-pst-and-ost-HA102749454.aspx?CTT=1

In addition, you can try to uninstall these updates to check if Outlook will work, so that we can determine if this issue is caused by released updates.

Hi,

After starting outlook with all 3 above given ways, seems it is repaired now somehow.

It is working fine now without any troubles.

Thanks a lot.
