Outlook 2013 delay on meeting popup

Hi All,

In calendar view inside Outlook, I click a time in the past and start typing to put an appointment in. Because the time is in the past Outlook immediately pops up a reminder saying that I've missed the appointment.

The issue I'm facing is that this popup appears when I'm half way through typing the name of the appointment and it takes the context away from the box I'm typing in. So, for example, if I want to log a meeting called "sales meeting" that happened a couple of hours earlier I get as far as typing "sales mee" then the reminder pops up and I have to dismiss it, then go back to the meeting, edit it, then type in the missing "ting" out of the word "meeting".

So my question: Is there way to delay that box from popping up immediately? I'm thinking a 10sec delay would be fine.

Thanks,

Hi Tom,

Do you mean the reminder window will pop up before saving the appointment? If this is the case, it's not the expected behavior of Outlook.

Have you tested this issue in Outlook safe mode? Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /safe and press Enter. If the problem would be gone in safe mode, it means the issue is caused due to problematic add-ins. We can go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-ins to resolve the issue.

In addition, we can also try starting Outlook with /cleanreminders switch. The switch clears and regenerates all reminders. It will fix the issue if the issue is caused due to corrupt reminder folder. To do this, close Outlook. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /cleanreminders and press Enter.

Please let me know the result.
