Outlook 2013 always ask for Password
Hi All,

I have issue here from my client outlook, it always prompt a windows security and asking her outlook email but when I try to close this security windows it still connected on microsoft exchange. After a second window security is still pop up again and asking for password.

I try to clear all credential on her credential manager, on accunt settings > click email > change > more settings> advanced > and uncheck the "download shared folders" under Cached Exchange Mode Settings.

She is using windows 8 OS and this is a brand new machine.

Hope anyone can help me on this problem.

Thanks.

Hi,

Please try to use NTLM Authentication then check the result.

You can refer to this forum article below:

Why does Outlook keep prompting for password

There are also other steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Hi Melon,

I set her exchange email as NTLM Authentication on her Security on Account Setting but same thing happen.

She is using other exchange email hosted on other server. But when I try to input her name@domain.onmicrosoft.com and her password on that email it works temporary but when I close her outlook and try to open it the windows security still pop up and ask for password for once. And that thing still continue.

I try to create this on regedit on her machine and this is not working as well

PreferLocalXML
ExcludeHttpRedirect
ExcludeHttpsAutoDiscoverDomain
ExcludeHttpsRootDomain
ExcludeScpLookup
ExcludeSrvRecord
ExcludeLastKnownGoodURL (only applies to Outlook 2013)

dword (32bit) | value = 1

I also try to uninstall and install her office 2013 but no luck on this also.

Hope you can help me.
Many thanks.

Some suggestions:

1. Create a new profile for the user to try again

2. Turn off "Download shared folders":

File -> account settings ->account settings -> Edit.. (account) -> More settings... (button on the bottom) -> Advanced (tab) -> Untick "Download shared folders")
