Outlook 2013 Template Issues - Text is Stripped

I also did outlook /safe with no successful resolve.

Good day everyone.

We just recently migrated from Office 2007 to 2013. I have encountered an issue with the Outlook templates.  We use templates in our environment to create approval or disapproval emails for the leadership to sign off.

What we have done in the past:

A request is staffed and is approved.  An Email is created saying that the leadership has approved the request.  This Email is immediately saved as an OFT.  This is so we send the leadership a pre-filled out email with the approval and then they only need to hit the send button.

The problem:

When certain computers save the OFT file and reopen it, all the text within the body of the Email is stripped.  The attachments remain in place.

I have done a few troubleshooting steps:

- I have renamed the OPT file to a .txt file. I am able to see the body of the Email within the plain text.

- On my computer I can successfully create a .oft file and send it to the other computer and it opens without any issues.

- On the bad computer, I have zipped a few .oft files, files sampled from pre-mirgration and post-migration, and had them sent to me. I was able to view the body of the message from an older .oft file but the message seems to have been stripped on the new one.  After opening the file in notepad, I am able to see the body of the email within the plain text.

We do have the same GPOs being pushed on to the computers.

So I am a complete loss on what to do next.

All and any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi,

Please try the following two method and check if they work:

1. Click Save button (or press Ctrl + S) before saving the message as .OFT file.

2. Send the email to yourself first, and then save the message as .OFT template.

If above doesn't work, we may go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Email Security, select the check box before "Read all standard mail in plain text". Click OK and then test the issue again.

Please let me know the result.
